OFFICER JOSEPH MEDINA
David Zayas was born in Puerto Rico and raised in the Bronx. A movie lover since early childhood, Zayas always had acting aspirations, but after graduating from high school, he joined the Air Force and then pursued a career as a NYC policeman, placing his own dreams on hold to support his family. In the early 90’s he enrolled in acting classes while still working as a cop. Zayas’ talent was soon recognized, and he appeared in many plays. In 1992 he became a member of the LAByrinth Theater Company. He went on to win roles in television and film. His roles as Enrique Morales in HBO’s OZ, Sgt. Angel Batista on Showtime’s Dexter, and Sal Maroni on Fox’s Gotham stand out among his television work. David is expected to make his debut as a writer / director in 2016.
